Choo Choo!

K  had a busy weekend. On Saturday we went to Kennedy Park in Hayward. Mommy use to go there a lot when she was kid.  K got to ride a train for the first time. She loved it so much, Daddy got her a ticket to ride it a second time.

She's waving bye as the train leaves the station.

She rode on the merry go round with Daddy.

She also went to the petting zoo and posed for a picture with the goat. K was brave enough to pet the goat.

After taking a nap from the park, we headed over to see Baby Mason. He was asleep most of the time we were there, but he woke up the last hour. Mommy is telling K to pat Mason gently and say hi.

Uncle Dan and Pepper were visiting Mason too. Uncle Dan threw K up in the air and she had a blast.

Pepper and K matched since they were both in black and white.

Auntie Mel taught Pepper a cool hand stand trick. All Pepper needs is a carrot as a treat and she can do it on command. This was the first time we have seen dogs eat carrots!

On Sunday we went to the park across from Po Po and Gong Gong's house. Cousin Ethan went down the slide with K.

K played on the swing too.

What a busy weekend, but a fun one! Can't wait to see what's in store for the long weekend!

New Beginnings

On May 2, K, Daddy and Mommy officially moved into a single family home in the peninsula. We were excited about the move, but it was also bittersweet. We moved from our condo in SSF which was a 10 minute commute to work, 2 minute access to the freeway and Pak 'n Sav was literally across the street which made grocery shopping pretty convenient. Also the condo was K's first home and where she first came home from the hospital after she was born. Here's a pic of the condo for memory sake. We lived on the second floor.

There are many good things about our new area. One being we are in a good school district and K's elementary school is 5 minutes from our home. There is also a new library that is close by.  K now has a yard that she can play in.  With a little water and fertilizer the grass should be good as new.

We live in a family orientated neighborhood. On our the block, the families of children are under 12 years old. The first time K went on a walk in her stroller, the neighborhood kids swarmed her and gave her a big welcome to the neighborhood greeting.

There are nice trails and paths along the lagoon where K can enjoy the views.

It took a little time for K to adjust to her new surroundings. She immediately noticed the change. For the first few days when we walked into the house, she wanted Mommy to hold her and would not stand on her own, but she was up and about (her active self) after a week. We decorated her nursery with cherry blossoms. She loved it! Here she is admiring her new nursery.

The cherry blossoms took some time to put up since Daddy and Mommy had to stick on each flower, but we are happy with the final product.

Even though we will miss the condo, we will make new memories at our new home! Come visit!

I Can Feed Myself!

When it's dinner time, K is becoming more independent and wants to feed herself. When Mommy tries to feed her, she grabs the spoon and wants to do it herself.
K: I'm ready to eat!

See I can do it!

Ahhh check out what's in my mouth!

Here's a video of K at Po Po's house. She fed herself a couple bites of jook. Po Po is a good cook. The jook was mighty tasty!

Last Friday K had her one year appointment with Dr. Mason. When we picked her up from daycare, she actually had a fever, so K lucked out and her shots are postponed for another week. Her current measurement are 30 inches tall (75 percentile) and 20.3 pounds (25 percentile). We got some good news at the visit! K can be weaned off her acid reflux meds and won't have to take them much longer!

K has discovered a new sound she can make with her hands.

She loves music and loves to dance even more!

The Celebrations Continue...

On K's actual birthday, Mommy and Daddy took the day off from work. We started the day by taking photos at Picture People since Daddy purchased a groupon deal. K was pretty good except she wouldn't stay still and would walk up to the photographer to give her a hug. We can't blame her for being friendly.

Afterwards we went to Hop and Play, an indoor play area for kids. She got to ride on a dino.

She also went down the waterfall slide.

Daddy took her into a room filled with floating balloons. There was a big fan that blew them up to the roof.

For dinner K went to Chevy's.  Since it was her birthday, of course she has to keep the Chevy's tradition and wear the big sombrero. Doesn't she look like someone that had a few too many margaritas?

The waitress gave her a free ice-cream that had a churro cone. It was her first time eating ice cream.

She loved it and couldn't get enough of it.

The following day K celebrated her birthday once again. This time at daycare. Mommy got her an elmo cake to share with her friends.

Lolita sat her front and center

All her friend sang to her and K had a good old time!
