Family & Friends Kind of Weekends

A couple weeks ago K had a play date with Auntie Jenn and her family at Superfranks in Dublin. It's an indoor play area with slides, arcades and toys .

It was good to see everyone. It's been a long time. Isaiah is the oldest and always such a good big brother to his younger siblings.

K and Ava both spent time coloring. Ava developed stranger anxiety and would scream would Uncle Allen looked at her, but at the end of the day she let Mommy hold her.

During lunch K wanted to sit next to the boys. Ethan wasn't in the mood to take a picture, but that's okay.

Auntie Caroline and Uncle Vu were in town. Uncle Vu got a job offer and will be moving back to CA.

Since the weather has been warmer K has been playing with her water table.

Her other favorite activity are bubbles. Everytime when she gets home from school, she asks Mommy and Daddy to play with her bubbles.

Last weekend K celebrated Gung Gung's birthday. He let her blow out of his candles. Happy birthday Gung Gung.

Quotes From a Two Year Old

K's vocabulary has expanded in the last couple of months. She can carry on full conversations now. While her language skills are increasing, her attitude is coming out at the same time. Mommy would like to share some of K's sassy' personality. It's sometimes hard not to laugh at the things that come out of this 2 year old's mouth!

"DADDY DON'T TOUCH MY BODY!"
When Daddy carried K to cross the parking lot to get to school. K insisted on walking on her own which is dangerous in a parking lot. Daddy was in complete shock when she screamed what she said. There were many parents around too!

"LET'S NOT!"
When Daddy said let's take a shower and go to bed.

"YES. DON'T CALL MY NAME AGAIN!"
When K was busy coloring and Daddy tried to get her attention and called Katelyn, Katelyn, Katelyn.

"I DON'T LIKE THAT! DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!!"
When Mommy wipes her face.

"DO IT YOURSELF!"
When Daddy asks K to wash her hands and help him pump some soap.

"I DON'T THINK SO! GO TO THE STORE AND BUY SOME!"
When Mommy says there is no juice.

"GET YOUR OWN!"
When Daddy ate one of K's goldfish from her snack cup.

"I'LL BE BACK. I'LL BE BACK IN 5 MINUTES"
When she wants Mommy to know that she will go play in living room and come back later to see Mommy. She puts up her hand and says it very seriously.

"HI MOMMY! HI MOMMY! ARE YOU HAPPY?"
When K misbehaves and knows Mommy is angry. She will keep calling Mommy's name to get her attention.

But on the flip side, K is very kind with her words.

"I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU MOMMY!
When Mommy picks K up from school and she runs halfway across the yard since she is so excited to see her parents. This is Mommy's highlight of the day.

"ARE YOU OKAY MOMMY? DO YOU WANT ME TO KISS IT?
When Mommy bumped her elbow.

"IT'S OKAY! IT'S OKAY! DON'T CRY!
When one of her friends at school falls down. K will rush over and comfort and pat her friend.

" PO PO- YOU LOOK SOOOO CUTE"
When she saw a picture of Po Po on Mommy's phone.

"I LOVE YOU"
Out of the blue, K will go up to Mommy and tell her how much she loves her.

She is also becoming very curious. "Why" is asked many times during the day and "What are you doing?" When Mommy and Daddy ask her a question she will answer "Because...."

Come visit and see what she will say to you!

Hot Summer Days

Last weekend Auntie Mai invited K to the SF Zoo. It was Adam's first time at the zoo. He slept most of the time, but when he was awake K wanted to play peek a boo with him in his stroller.

K recognized many animals. Her favorite was the giraffe. She saw them eat leaves from the tree. Mommy thought the koala was really cute. Daddy thought he looked like a stuffed animal.

K was so excited there was a carasouel at the zoo.

After the zoo, we all had dinner at a Shanghai restaurant. It was such a hot day, K cooled off with some froyo.

The next day K went to visit baby Charlie. She looks like her older brother. She wore the new headband K got her. Doesn't she look so cute?

K was extra friendly to Tristan and wanted to hug him and kiss him all the time.

For July 4th, K spent the day with Uncle Derek and Auntie Gabby. First stop was Fenton's since it was another hot day. K asked for green ice cream. Apparently she likes mint chocolate chip. That's Mommy's favorite too!

She loves her Uncle Derek!

Next stop was a visit to Auntie Gabby's school. She teaches preschool. K met Shoo the lizard. She was scared to hold him and petted him instead.

There were a lot of fun things to do in the yard. K climbed up and down the slide. Taz the dog played in the yard too.

Yesterday K went to the Alameda County Fair with Mason. It was another hot day. Both kids were sweating like crazy. They had their share of corn dogs and roasted corn. Mason got to ride the merry-go round for the first time and was pretty brave and loved it.

Taco Tuesday

Last week it was Taco Tuesday for dinner. K built her own taco. She loves raw tomatoes so she piled those on.

She was trying to be careful not to crack the shell when eating it. She requested to have more tacos in the future.

K got bit at school. She took a toy from another child and the child retaliated by biting. Both kids had serious talks with the teachers. The bite went away the next day.

K's favorite activity at school is cutting paper. Teacher Janice calls her the professional paper cutter. K loves it so much, Daddy bought her a pair of scissors on Amazon.

Po Po no longer has a flip phone and splurged on an iphone! The first thing she did was Facetime K.

Gung Gung enjoyed talking and seeing K too.
