Auntie Jill & Feet
Auntie Jill came to visit today. She is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We have known each other since the hopscotch days in elementary school. Auntie Jill currently resides in San Diego, but has flown up north for all the major milestones in my life (bridal shower, wedding, baby shower and K's red egg party). Flights aren't cheap these days either! It was nice that Auntie Jill was still in town after K's party and was able to come over to spend some quality time with us. K loved her! She watched K while I took a breather since K is still waking up many times at night. We can't wait until Auntie Jill has kids. She will make a great mommy!
We also had a photo shoot with K's feet when Auntie Jill was here. I was telling her, Daddy and I wanted some pics of K's feet before they get any bigger, but K is very active and moves and kicks a lot, so we haven't been able to get a good shot. Auntie Jill happened to bring her fancy SLR camera and was successful in capturing some great photos. She must have the magic touch and eye.
Too bad her feet could not stay this small forever. Baby feet are so cute and soft. I can touch them all day long.

Red Egg Ginger/100 Day Old Party
Today was K's red egg ginger party and the day she officially turned 100 days old!! The party was hosted by her grandparents at Hokkaido Buffet in San Mateo. Some say it is a celebration of welcoming the baby into society, but it's really a means for the grandparents to show off the new addition to the family. K did very well at the party. I was so proud of her! She hardly cried and was a trooper when she was passed around and held by many of the guests. She must have known she was the guest of honor.
The restaurant made this nifty picture display for guests to see when they arrive. You can't see him, but that's Uncle Larry pointing at K's picture.

At the end of the afternoon, K was all partied out and ready to call it a day and go home to take a nap.

What A Steal!
The other day K and I went to Burlingame to look for a dress for her upcoming Red Egg and Ginger Party at Janie and Jack. On top of getting a new dress, we scored this hat for 5 BUCKS! Now K's baldie head won't get sunburned when we go outdoors!

Explaination
Daddy did some digging around on the internet and found this on Baby Center:
During periods of growth or when she's working to achieve a new milestone, don't be surprised if your baby diverges from her usual routine. She may be hungrier than usual, need more sleep, or return to waking up several times a night. Hang in there — your baby may be back on schedule shortly, or this may be a sign that you need to adjust your routine.
K must be going through a three month growth spurt. Hopefully her frequent night time awakenings will be short lived or I will be one tired mommy!!

Back To The Old Days
The last couple of nights, K has been waking up three times!! She has not done that since she was born. At 7 weeks, she started only waking up once a night at 3:30. Last night she woke up at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:00 and started her morning at 5:45. She typically gets up at 6:15. Thirty minutes may not seem like a big difference in the time she wakes up but every cherished minute of sleep counts for Daddy and I. Aren't babies suppose to wake up less and sleep longer through the night when they get older?! I have no idea why the sudden change in sleep pattern. The only difference is now she is napping in the crib instead of me holding her. She has been taking 3 longer quality naps in the crib. Could it be, she is getting too much sleep in the day now? Whatever the reason, we need to figure it out pronto! We are exhausted!

The Little Things
Today Daddy tried peek a boo on K and she had a ball! K just started to giggle in the last couple of days. It made me realize the little things in life are the ones that matter. What a life a baby has- something as simple as peek a boo can get seconds of laughter and puts a big smile on my face as well.
