Pre Halloween Festivities

We took K to a nearby pumpkin patch. K had just woken up from her nap. She looks a little sad and maybe groggy.

Daddy couldn't get a smile out of her either.

Lolita hosted a luncheon for all the parents last week. She served authentic Mexican dishes that filled our bellies and the kids dressed up in their costumes. Featured in this pic is Lolita, the gypsy, Gloria, the devil and Laura. Gloria and Laura have been working at the daycare for over 8 years. Laura loves K to pieces. She always tells K, I will bring you home with me.

Not sure what K is doing here...perhaps being camera shy! Her friends Lovey is Belle and Caitlin is Strawberry Shortcake.

Videos

Dr. Mason said K can start eating solids at 6 months which is less than a week away! We gave K a preview of solids by giving her a taste of a banana. It looks like she's ready to chew away!

Daddy captured this video on his iphone of K checking herself out in the mirror.

Social Butterfly

K's social calendar was booked up this weekend. We celebrated great grandpa's 90th birthday at Koi Palace. It's kind of crazy to think K and him are 90 years apart!

We hope we get his genes and look this good when we are 90!

K missed the photo op since she was sleeping, but maybe Daddy can photoshop her in! This is all of the grandkids and great grandkids.

We also went to Daddy's coworker, Aimee's engagement party. She is getting married next September.

Grandpa and Grandma came to visit. Grandma fed K a bottle for the first time.

And lastly we went to Uncle Johnny and Auntie's Faith's house for dinner. They made some finger licking good ribs! The meat was so tender, it fell off the bone. In this picture, are their kids. Aubra is in the back and from left to right (Landon and Emery).  K had fun playing with them and the kids offered to babysit K anytime.

Surviving The Heat

Since the weather has been so nice and warm outside, we took advantage of it and decided to take K to the playground in our complex. Finally my HOA monthly fees are going toward something useful!  This was K's first time time on a slide. The look on her face tells me she is not sure what to expect. She's probably thinking, what are you guys doing to me? Should I be scared?

Judging by the expression on her face after she came down, she wasn't scared at all and really liked it.  She looks like a little daredevil. Daddy and I went down a couple more times with her. Let me tell you, slides seem much higher and steeper when you are going down with a baby!

Remember playing on this when you were younger?

K wasn't too interested. She cared more about putting her fingers in her mouth. Next time we will go to a park with a swing, so she can experience another first.

For those of you that have been to our condo, they know how warm it is. The condo is even more toasty when the outside temperature rises. It was a whopping 85 degrees inside our condo yesterday, so K cooled off by wearing just her diaper and bib.

Special Delivery From HK

Daddy's friend, Uncle Norman came to pay a visit to K. Uncle Norman currently lives and works in Hong Kong. He was stopping by SF on his way to a business trip. His wife, Auntie Dalena could not make it and was bummed she could not see K, so we will have to go to Hong Kong when K gets older and see her. They offered us a place to stay at their home when we are in town. Uncle Norman says it's even child proof since his 3 year old niece comes to visit.

K loves to grab and touch people's faces as shown in this picture

Two men and a little baby

Auntie Dalena picked out this cute chinese top and matching skirt called a cheong sam. It will be a perfect outfit for Chinese New Year which will be at the end of January 2012!

K continues to practice sitting up, here is her crouching tiger pose.

Practice, Practice, Practice

These days, Daddy has been practicing with K to learn how to sit up.

Leaning a little to the left....

She still needs her arms to brace herself and lean forward, but A for effort!

According to Lolita, K has been a little fussy at daycare this week. Lolita said K is usually pretty cheerful and happy, but she has been drooling like crazy, licking her gums and beginning to whine. We suspect she is starting to teethe, so we got her a teething ring to hopefully ease the pain. We pray to God that teething does not affect her sleep at night!

New Friends Coming Soon

K attended her first baby shower for Daddy's high friend, Uncle Ted and Auntie Angela. They currently reside in Texas since Uncle Ted is a doctor in the Air Force.  Here K has her party dress on and ready to go!
 Parents to be

K will have new friends to play with next year. Auntie Angela (on the left) is having a boy and Auntie Steph is having a girl.

The organizers of the shower had some creative favors. The cupcakes had sayings like "tick tock" and "new kid on the block."  In addition, there were tasty rice krispie treats shaped as a onesie! So cute!

Out With The Old, In With The New

When we put K in the swing, she seems to be getting bored now and trying to escape.

She has a new toy that she really likes. Thanks Uncle Larry and Auntie Lucy!

Her expression on her face says it all. Her face lights up since she is having so much fun!

Her little legs bouncing up and down. Doesn't she look stylish with her jeggings!

Auntie Mel & Uncle Dan

Auntie Mel & Uncle Dan came to play with K on Sunday. Uncle Dan was really excited when I was preggo. He put up a picture of K's sonogram at work and couldn't wait to meet her. Here's the pic Uncle Dan sent me of his desk. I think in that sonogram pic, K was 12 weeks old!

Auntie Mel equally loves kids as much. She has taken care of many babies. K really liked her. She let Auntie Mel hold her for a pretty long time and gave her many smiles. Auntie Mel was bummed when it was K's nap time and wanted to check K's nursey to see when she would wake up. K slept for over 2 hours, so play time was cut short for Auntie Mel.  Come visit again soon! How about babysitting when Daddy and I go on a date!? :)

Steve Young Sighting

Today K met her first celebrity! We were at Stanford mall at Bloomingdales and noticed outside there were a crowd of people with cameras snapping away. We were curious to see what all the commotion was about and found out... it was Steve Young! I am star struck no matter who it is, so here's K and I trying to be sly to get a pic of Steve. The line was way too long to get a real photo with him. Notice the security guards watching us in the background.

After our first sighting of Steve, we strolled around and got Sprinkles and Pinkberry. We happened to run into Steve again. Here's our second attempt. He was eating lunch behind the red umbrella, next to the lady in the blue shirt.  Steve got up to hug and greet some family members, so K and I sat on the bench to get another pic with him. Too bad K was napping.

K and Daddy had some fun in the parking lot before we headed home. Super baby to the rescue.

When we got home, we took K's monthly birthday picture. She turned 5 months this past Friday. I can see a tiny bit of hair starting to grow on the top :)

K putting her toes in her mouth again.  Hope she breaks the habit soon. It is quite unlady like!
