2 month check up

K went in for her 2 month vaccinations today. She is 11 pounds 4 ozs and in the 75th percentile. Her length is 23 ½ inches which is also in the 75th percentile. She had 2 shots and an oral. She took the oral pretty well maybe because it was already past her feeding time! Here is a short video of her taking the oral shot.

Daddy's Photo Shoot

These were the pictures Daddy took that we used for K's birth announcement. Good job Daddy! He took over hundred to get 3 good shots!

Go Giants

K’s favorite place in the house is lying on the blanket on the floor. She is discovering the TV and her eyes were glued to the TV the other day and guess what she was watching—the Giants game. Daddy must be so proud and can’t wait until he can bring her to a game.

K is 3 weeks old in this picture. I guess at that time Daddy already had her trained to love the Giants!

Great Grandparents

K has two very special people in her lives--her great grandparents.

Great grandma is like a second mom to me. She took care of me when I was younger when my parents went to work. She was really happy when I first told her I was pregnant. She would call me a few times a week to check up on me and see how pregnancy was going and still calls me to check up on K and teach me and give me advice on how to raise her. This is great grandma's first great grandchild.

Great Grandpa was excited to meet K for the first time. He is 90 years old and flew up himself from San Diego and surprised us with a visit when K was less than a week old. K is great grandpa's third great grandchild.

Homemade Goodness

K received a lot of gifts from my baby showers. Some of my favorite are the ones that are hand made.

Auntie Betty and Uncle Dave gave this pretty hat to K. I love how girly it is. It's still a little big for K but she will eventually grow into it one day. Auntie Betty's sister knitted it. I wish I could knit such cute hats!

Auntie Jill crocheted these adorable booties for K. K wore them home from the hospital. Doesn't K look like a heavy weight boxer with her hands up and her big diaper?

We love Po Po (Grandma)

When K was born, grandma stayed with us after Daddy returned to work.  Grandma took one month off work to help us out. We don't have a spare room, so she had to sleep on the couch each night.  She was a tremendous help!! She cooked all meals, cleaned up our house and even woke up in the middle of the night when K was fussy and helped soothe her. When K woke up at the crack of down, after I fed her, Grandma would hold K and rock her and put her back to sleep, so Daddy and I could get more rest. We are super appreciative and feel so lucky to have grandma in our lives! Also thanks to Gung Gung (grandpa) for always driving grandma to our house. Gung Gung also does silly faces to make K laugh and smile.

Visitors..So Much Love!

Thank you to all the aunties and uncles, family and friends for coming to visit Katelyn at the hospital or at our home. We are blessed to have you in our lives. Thanks for all the love and support!
Note---apparently I am not computer savvy since I am having trouble arranging these pictures and the format is off.

Can we say punctual!

I intended to start blogging once Katelyn was born, but sleep deprivation and being a new mom got the best of me. I'm going to take a stab at it now. It's better late than never.

Labor started at 1:30 am while Allen and I were in bed. I woke him up and said I'm not sure, but I think I am having contractions!! Are you ready to be a daddy?! Sure enough as the cramps grew more intense, I knew baby K was on her way. We arrived at the hospital at 4:00 am and Katelyn Alexis made her debut on April 30, 2011 at 6:24 pm weighing in at 7 pounds and 3 ounces and 20 inches long. She was a pretty punctual baby since she arrived on her due date! Labor was pretty difficult and traumatic. Let's just say it included back labor, 3 1/2 hours of pushing, an almost C-section, an episiotomy, and her being vacuumed out. But it was all worth it! We fell in love with her the moment we saw her.
