BFF At Daycare

K's bff at daycare is April. She is 3 years old. When April sees K in the morning, she screams "Katelyn! Katelyn!" and runs up and gives her kisses. It is very sweet.

Lolita says April watches over K during the day. She is her protector as you can see how she holds her in this picture. Daddy thinks it looks more like a choke hold!

K is very intrigued by kids and mostly babies. When she sees baby Ashley, she loves to peer inside her car seat and give kisses.

Stroller Patrol

Majority of the time K will protest, scream and kick when we put her in the carseat or stroller. She hates being confined. The only thing she likes about the stroller is holding on and pushing it. She got so used to pushing her walker, she wanted to push her stroller too!

 

K is generally a happy and smiley baby, but there are times when she can do a complete 180 and become a feisty little girl. Here she is sweet and innocent.

One minute later, her firery side comes out! When K doesn't like something or is angry she throws things on the ground. Hope this is not a glimpse of what Mommy and Daddy has to look forward to when she gets older especially terrible two's!

One Step At A Time

Lolita has been telling us for the last couple of weeks that K has been trying to walk and has taken a couple of steps, but she has never done it for us at home until yesterday. Sigh this is only the beginning...

Buster & Taz

We checked out Uncle Derek & Auntie Gabby's new apartment at Lake Marriot over the weekend.  K met their dogs for the first time. Buster is a terrier mix. His nickname is scrappy since he looks for food on the floor or tries to eat lefovers on the table.

Taz is 1 years old and a golden retriever mix. He loves kids and licked K's face when he met her. K did not like it and closed her eyes and squirmed.  But K loved the dogs. She was constantly babbling to them and pointing at them.

During dinner, K dropped some of her string cheese to Buster.

Taz came up and tried to eat off K's tray table. She did not appreciate this as you can tell by the look on her face!

Thanks for having us over Uncle Derek & Auntie Gabby! We love the place and had fun with the dogs!

Trying Out The Walker

Last week K played with her new toy.  It went faster than she expected, so she ended up on her knees. Excuse the mess in our house. Mommy has come to the conclusion, once you have a kid the house can never stay clean! One minute you clean up the toys, the next minute it's a mess again.


This week K got the hang of the walker and was even able to back up and maneuver. What a difference a week makes! Next time we will have to bring the walker to Po Po and Gung Gung's house since their house is more spacious and has more room to walk.

First Tooth

Finally teeth are coming! K's first tooth appeared two weeks ago. She was cranky over the weekend and by Monday she was her cheery self again at Lolitas. We are thankful that it hasn't affected her night time sleeping (knock on wood)!! According to Po Po, Mommy was a terror when she was teething and cried so much, she ended up sleeping in Po Po's bed. If you look closely, you can see a tiny speck of white in the middle and to the left below her gum is red since her second tooth is poking through as well. The pic is pretty blurry since K was not cooperative and would not stay still. Once her pearly whites come in, we will get a better picture!

Ever since she's been teething, she frequently sticks her hand in her mouth like this. Somehow babies find this soothing.

Another first for K is holding her own bottle. She has stopped being lazy and can feed herself.

Today Auntie Lilian and James came over. We can't believe how tall James has gotten. He's almost 2 inches taller than K and he's a month younger. We think he should be a basketball player when he grows up! James shared his rice crackers with K. It was her first time eating them and she wasn't sure what to do with them. She looks to James to see how it's done.

James gives K positive reinforcement and says you can do it!

The kids had fun looking out the door watching the cars go bye. K would wave to the vehicles that passed by.

Hopefully these two will grow up together and be as good friends just like Auntie Lilian & Mommy!

Happy Bday Court!

We went to Court's luau/birthday party. She had two cakes for celebrating. One guava and a smaller one just for herself!

C's party was a lot of fun. K rode on the dino. Her buddy, Tristan was a backseat rider while K was in the driver's seat.  Uncle Joe said T is too cool for his dino at home and offered to let K borrow it. Thanks Uncle Joe!

We can't believe Court is already a year old! A year has gone by so fast. Auntie Ali took this pic of the girls when K was a couple of weeks old and Court was less than 3 months. The girls have grown so much! They use to just lay still on the couch now they can't sit still for more than a couple of secs!

After C's party, we went to World Buffet for a red egg ginger party for Jonathon Jr. He is 5 months old and such a calm baby. We didn't hear him cry once.

Sunday we had dinner with Uncle Richard and Auntie Tammy. They had a lot of fun playing with K. Auntie Tammy was talking to K and she was babbling back to her.  K had a very eventful weekend. She was so exhausted Lolita said she slept 3.5 hours for her morning nap at daycare! Hope everyone had a fun weekend too!

Look No Hands!

K's new milestone at 10 months is standing up by herself. Here she is getting ready in stance position.

 

She absolutely loves standing. She is all smiles and laughs when she is able to do it on her own.

Daddy counted and K is able to stand for a good 15 seconds. Mommy is hoping K takes her time walking. She fears this child will be a wild one and we will need to chase after her.

K is also loving the chance to climb stairs. Anytime she visits Po Po and Gung Gung's house that is one of the first things she wants to do. She can climb all the way to the top of the stairs. 16 steps total!
