Bye-Bye Geckos...Hello Squirrels

It's been 3 months since K started school. She transitioned to the Squirrels which is a classroom for children who are 18 months and older. She will stay in the classroom until she turns 2. On her last day, she took a few pics with some of her teachers and friends.

Missing in the picture are Teacher Teresa and Teacher Aimee.  We were so fortunate to have such amazing group of teachers.  Teacher Hind is so nurturing and you can how much she loved and cared for the kids.  Teacher Cuc was great at store telling and would make us laugh with all the things K did.

It was bittersweet to leave Geckos. Developmentally it will be great for K, but we will miss all the teachers in the class. Especially K's primary Teacher, Steph. She has a special kind gift that every parents wants in a teacher. She is so patient, detailed and genuinely cares about the kids. Teacher Steph would call Mommy when K was sick at home to check up on her or email Mommy when was in Korea and ask how K is doing and says she misses her. On K's last day teacher Steph gave K a gift.

The Geckos made a good-bye sign for K.

And here's the sign she was greeted with on her first day.

Marirose is her new primary care teacher. K was a little shy on her first day and clingy to Mommy, but overall she did okay. Geckos and Squirrels share an adjourning wall and can see into into each classroom. K looked through the clear windows and doors and spotted her old teachers and blew them kisses and waved to them. She also found them in the play yard and gave them hugs.

Teacher Steph came to greet K on her first day to check up on her and read her a book.

At home, K opened her gift from Teacher Steph. She loved tearing the paper.

She received a Dr Sesus book, Oh, The Places You Will Go with a special message written by Teacher Steph,  K couldn't wait to look flip through the pages.

Speaking of reading, K grabbed the newspaper Daddy left on the couch and relaxed to catch up the latest news!
